This is the worst surgery I have EVER been to: * Booking an appointment is near-on impossible and their policy of not allowing bookings for later during the week is extremely inconvenient and ridiculous * Receptionist do not answer when you call them (there is a £0.05 charge per minute which shows on your bill when you wait on the phone for 45 minutes) * Rude and not compassionate staff *Too many patients for the few doctors now based there (they are still accepting even more patients when they cannot cope with those already registered...) in result queues at the practice are ridiculous and patients have to stand as there are only a handful of chairs *you cannot book in advance, you cannot book on the same day, there are no slots free. *Online booking does not work. * I would not recommend this surgery to anyone.

Response from Lakeside Medical

I'm sorry that you are so unhappy with our services. I'd like to respond to your comments individually: We do allow bookings for later in the week when there available slots. Some slots each day are held back for "book on the day" appointments to allow patients who urgently need to see their doctor to make an appointment. Obviously, if patients wish only to see a specific GP or nurse they wait a little longer until a suitable appointment is available. We have three local 0208 numbers which are publicised widely - on our website, all over the health centre and on our appointment cards. These are 020 8320 5567 / 5571 /5572 - if you use these in future, your call charges will be much lower. Online booking does in fact work very well - but can only display slots which are available to book; if you try to make a booking for the same day , for example, generally the slots will already be filled. We currently have 10 GPs working in the practice, plus 2 full-time Registrars, who are qualified doctors training to be GPs. In addition, we have two Nurse Practitioners and a Nurse Prescriber who are able to carry out consultations and prescribe medication. This is more than most other practices with a similar number of patients. With regard to the seating, and as we do not own our building, we are limited in what we can provide. We are aware that we have a small seating area (23 seats!) for our number of patients and have campaigned tirelessly to increase this, including contacting our landlords, the local MP and Councillors. This has been unsuccessful so far but we continue to agitate to get more seating and a larger waiting area for our patients.
