My mother was a patient, for months she had been complaining about being in pain so instead of visiting her ,her appointments were all done over the phone, she had been given painkillers the last ones paracetamol why she hadn't been sent for scans or even an x-ray I have no clue ,anyways she ended up in agony had to be taken to hospital on the Thursday turns out she had a hernia in her groin which perverated her bowl , had a heart attack because of the trama, was refused an operation as she wasn't fit enough, got septis and died on the Monday , I hope nobody has to watch there mother die like this as she would still be with us if examined properly, absolutely heartbroken

Suggested improvements

This is a disgraceful health centre. I don't understand why these people are able to work for the NHS when they treat patients so poorly. Doctors here refused to do their job and I felt the need to contact the Chief Medical Officer just encase there was a new government policy that stops doctors doing their jobs. I received a reply on his behalf telling me my issue was the responsibility of GPs and that I should complain to the ombudsman as I had already tried complaining to the manager who wouldn't do anything. The treatment I've had here has caused me too much stress which is very dangerous for my condition so I'm trying to recover a bit more from my condition and poor treatment so i'm capable of dealing with the stress complaining will cause me before I can do this and instruct my solicitors on what to do, as they require that i go through the ombudsman before they can take my case further. Luckily i've recorded evidence of poor treatment which I'd advise everyone to do if they have the misfortune of being forced to use this health centre.

Doctors need to listen to patients (one doctor actually said he didn't want to know something I tried to tell him about serious symptoms I had and only wanted to know about my visit to an out of hours clinic after calling 111) , treat patients as individuals and actually refer patients to the relevant specialist when they claim to be doing so. other staff should stop making it so stressful for patients that are trying to make an appointment or get a copy of things like blood test results which had been very difficult for me at this practice. Doctors should also always tell the truth as I have evidence of more than one of them telling lies which has been really confusing as I don't understand why a doctor would lie to a patient. One example of this was a doctor telling me doctors didn't have access to things from my medicals history if they came from another area, even just from Glasgow, where I had been in hospital and my hospital report was handed into the health centre when I was on the way home from hospital nearly a year before this or about a vaccine over a decade ago I had in another area which I eventually found in my records after trying to get them from this practice for over a year.

Under treatment for breast cancer and need to have bloods done before chemo treatment. They could not/can not give me an appointment to go to the nurse to have my blood taken, which literally take 5 mins. Told me to go the central health centre, which are always happy to give me an appointment. When you do go into kenilworth surgery there is either no patients waiting or less than 5 including me. What are all their doctors and nurses doing? When trying to get an appointment, it is 4 weeks for a telephone consult.

Suggested improvements
Please start seeing patients again. Give people who need a scheduled appointment for bloods to be taken an appointment. Dealing with cancer is stressful enough without your gp practice refusing an appointment or telling you that you have to call on the day which is no good and stressful if you need those bloods done before you get chemo.

Totally disgusted with this practice and I can see by the reviews I am not the only one. The biggest joke of the place has to be the down right rude and nasty receptionists. The way you are spoken to over the phone totally contradicts what they have on their website. Quote from website ..'It is not surprising that sometimes you or a loved one may feel bewildered or concerned when using the NHS. And this can be at times when you are feeling at your most vulnerable and anxious.' Its unclear whether the staff are undertrained or just generally nasty people. These staff need to take into account the anxiety patients may be feeling over their health and to change their attitude when working with the public in general. I was treated appallingly after testing positive for covid and being hit with they aren't letting anyone in to the surgery because of the pandemic is shameful no wonder hospital staff laugh at them! That sort of attitude is an absolute insult to the ICU doctors and nurses who have worked non stop during this. I was laughed at down the phone when I phoned about my mole as they were not very helpful on getting me an appointment based on my circumstances. I am now waiting for my results back to see if this mole is cancerous or not after getting this removed. Struggling to breath during covid and I was told by staff I could not even receive a telephone app as this wasn't an emergency!!! The place has a terrible name for itself through word of mouth for a very good reason. Patients are constantly wanting to leave the practice due to poor care mainly from receptionists. Also the managers are not interested in the way their staff speak to the public they are just in it for their fat pay check!!! The place makes me sick and I am so glad I have finally been deregistered from there.

Suggested improvements
Listen to your patients especially management. Train reception staff to be nicer and have some awareness on what the other person is going through over the phone. Take complaints seriously instead of dismissing them. Take other peoples circumstances into consideration especially when they are working in a hospital during the pandemic.
