I had a telephone consultation with Dr Amasanti. She was very thorough, professional snd caring. The course of action that we discussed has already seen a marked improvement in my health and well being. Thank you

It would be good if there was a better way of getting an appointment than the 08:00 telephone scramble

I have generally been provided with a good ,quick and kind service from the doctors and reception staff at Islington Ihub . Unfortunately is difficult to get an appointment. Prior to the pandemic this was because some reception staff did not know about it when I called and during the pandemic because you are usually on hold for a long time. For example after 2 days of calling both in the morning and after 6.30pm I could not get an appointment. Finally on 1/2/22 , I was on hold for about 20 minutes , which is usual, a woman picked up and said she could not hear me. I raised my voice slightly and asked if she was able to hear me now. She said no, so was able to hear me well enough to understand what I was saying. I asked her if she could please hold on a sec while I turned up the volume . She immediately hung up the phone . I called back and waited over 15 minutes . I think she picked up the phone again and this time she immediately said there were no more appointments. I said ok and tried to explain that I was disappointed because I was on hold for a long time and the phone was then put down. She would not let me finish my sentence , kept talking over me and interrupted me at least 5 times. She then berated me for taking what she felt was 5 minutes to explain my feedback. I was shocked especially after being on hold for so long, each time I call. I asked her to pass the feedback to her manager and when she said she couldn't I asked to speak to the manager , she said she couldn't do that either and kept talking over me when I asked for his details. She then hung up and pretended she couldn't hear me after saying she'd pass on the feedback even though I was still asking for his details at the time. I called the same number again and this time withheld my number . I got through to the non appointment section , within 5 minutes. The woman who answered said the manager was not in that evening . She asked if she could help . I told her that two of her colleagues had put the phone down on me. I wasn't sure if it was the same woman on my first call and didn't want to assume The woman said there were only two of them there and her tone became harsh and abrupt. She said that they put the phone down normally when they are dealing with abuse. I had not explained the circumstance before she made that statement. She developed an attitude in her tone and was defensive when I asked her colleague's name. They refused to give it , stating that they needed to protect themselves. I asked her from what ? She just spoke over me and said they had nothing to hide. Clearly they do if they are not open in giving at their first name at least. The staff I have encountered at Ihub Islingtion have all been kind and compassionate except for these two so I am beyond disappointed at this experience. I was especially disheartened as I am dealing with anxiety over speaking to medical staff about my medical situation.

I think covid can not be used as an excuse for not showing sick patients compassion when they call. It costs nothing and doesn't take much time . I'm hoping the two women I spoke with on 1/2 /22 were just having a bad day but the response I received gives me the impression this is their usual behaviour. Please give these women coaching on how to deal with patients with kindness and compassion . Please also fix the waiting times on the Ihub Ritiche Street Doctors automated phone line. I have been cut off more than once .

Great clinic, in that you can usually get an appointment on the same day, really nice reception staff, really functional place. However, I saw a GP to have some stitches removed after a bicycle accident. I was astonished at the speed, I was in there for about two minutes as he speedily tore them out. I asked if he'd got all of them out (I had five, he insisted its was just three). A few weeks later, I was able to shave, he'd left some in, the skin was pussy and the scarring is now far worse, I had to remove them myself. I understand that some NHS are under incredible restraints, but to rush like this is just ridiculous. Poor form on that GP's behalf, after I told him that the hospital gave me 5 stitches, and he insisted I was misinformed.

Dr Woodward refused to provide a quick private referral to a private consultant. She said she wanted the hospital discharge papers I had already shown her to be sent to her by email and by hard copy. When I said I could do both immediately, she replied; "even so it will take two weeks to make a referral letter". In place of hospital prescribed morphine for pain management, she offered paracetamol for post-surgical pain relief after a fractured shoulder repaired with a metal plate and screws. Dr Woodward appeared to relish in her power to do nothing for her patients. I went to MyHCA GP, downloaded the app and booked a next day appointment with a decent doctor who prescribed and referred immediately.
