Ifield Medcal Practice is a lovely practice. The staff are very helpful, and the surgery always looks very clean. Its a new modern practice. The only negative point is, it is difficult to get a 'quick' appointment on the telephone. I actually went to the surgery and waited for it to open so I could be given an appointment on the same day. All in all though, I can not fault the surgery or my doctor Dr Alexander, he is a wonderful doctor. If there is anything I am worried about, the doctor does a ring back service, and this is very reassuring if there is anything I need help with or am worried about. A first class Medical Practice.

Nice and Friendly Surgery. Reception Staff are always helpful. You can make routine appointments on line with EMIS You can ask for repeat prescription, this will be even more important with the new E-Prescription starting soon. (Direct to the Chemist of your choice) You are invited to education evenings. Late evening appointments. Emergency Appointments usually available. (Depending on Circumstances) Telephone Consultations. Lots of other services. (Carer Help, Chiropody) Great Practice Nurses for all sorts of tests, ECGS, Phlebotomy, Dressing Clinics, Minor Ops (Lumps and Bumps etc) Car Park Drinking Water Machine Your not always going to see eye to eye with everybody and the same happens in Healthcare as in Life. You can always choose who treats you but if an Emergency Appointment is needed then an you are that unwell then you wont mind who you see. I would recommend this Surgery. Working for the NHS and Private Sector gives me insight into the workings of a busy practice and I am well qualified to write this kind of review. Only having been a Resident in Crawley for 3 years, I have been patients of the Doctors from Plymouth, Northampton, St Albans and Croydon, this is one of the best practices I have been lucky to find.

i asked the receptionist if I could see a doctor only to be told the next appointment will be in two weeks. This is outrageous. The receptionist gave no apology, or reason; a ' take it or leave it ' attitude. I found this receptionist brusque in her manner towards me. The online services have broken down. I tried different times to get through to Repeat Prescription and to Make an Appointment, to no avail. The system didn't even recognise me as a client although I've been registered from day one. On contacting ' support' I got an automated reply, to my email, telling me to make a telephone call. On the positive side: My GP is caring, professional and a person I can talk to with confidence; when I can get an appointment to see her. She has always telephoned me when something was amiss with my blood tests and when I have been too unwell to come to surgery. Also I have found all the nurses to be professional, caring and friendly.

The system of not being able to make an appointment for non-urgent visits in less than a fortnight is not convenient for patients even though this fits in with doctors' and staff requirements but having accepted this what is even more annoying is not being able to make an appointment at all as the booking is closed and patients are asked to ring the next day. Apparently most other practices do not operate in this way and offer non-urgent appointments within 2-5days. In August I wanted to make an appointment to ask my doctor to sign an Advance Decision Form to confirm I was competent to make this decision but was turned away from the desk as the receptionist could not book me in. I decided not to bother. I did receive very good and effective treatment from a trainee GP at the surgery last year.
