As a care worker involved in looking after the elderly I phoned to make an appointment for my flu injection to protect them . Yes I came have an appointment at the end of November 2 months away I really let down and how Is that protecting the elderly .I have in the passed had my injection at the surgery not too sure what to do.
My husband got a phone call to say he needed a blood test as soon as possible he was out at the time so I took a message .he could not get through on the phone went to the surgery and said that he needed an urgent blood test .only appointment available was 2 weeks time. The receptionist did in the end find an appointment at the Shelley manor practice for the next day. This is a very badly run surgery with no appointment and not looking after peoples needs.
My last two repeat prescription requests have been completely mismanaged leaving me without medications that need to be taken every day.
I have also met resistance about a request being given the wrong tablets and being told I had enough of the former at home! Why would I order if I had enough? Is this cost cutting? At one point I was told it was ‘ human error’ yet I still met resistance. I am so frustrated and disenchanted, I am changing Practice, all too unhelpful and stressful.
I have to say that the treatment at this Surgery has always been professional. They have beem so kind and have always followed up blood tests and referrals. I would like to recommend DR Yeomans and Nurse Specialist Julie Thornton. Such kind people who have been so supportive and who i have nothing but praise for.
Its sad to see the negative reviews. People often dont appreciate the workload of the receptionists and staff. I am sure they rarely get any praise as it is easier to criticise.
The receptionist was rude- extremely rude. She was unhelpful and showed no empathy to my situation, I explained the severity of my situation and she seemed to just repeat I’ve only just been made aware of the situation.
I have found the receptionists, doctors and nurses very helpful, patient and friendly.
My one little moan is that being deaf I have trouble speaking to receptionists and tried to find out more about using the online website for making this easier for me but little seems to be known and I think they said it was new, so still sorting it out. Obviously with all the raised voices my business isn't very private either.
Overall a very nice surgery, clean, modern with plenty of toilets.
