Share review of High Road Family Doctors
I phoned for my 5 year old son I finally got through at 8.20 in the morning after trying non stop from 8oclock (73 calls) only to be told there were no appointments left by 8.20 in the morning?! The receptionist didnt go into detail my concern with my son and when I questioned how she had booked all the appointments for the on the day in 20 minutes her response was the practice manager blocks out appointments that I can’t unblock. I asked to speak to the manager who conveniently wasn’t in that day. I was told to go to the pharmacy or a@e and to maybe look at changing doctors?! No wonder a&e is struggling when you can’t book GP appointments because the practice manager blocks them out?! When asked if I can prebook she said no try again the the morning to which I said but you will tell me exactly the same thing to which she responded I know if you email in a complain they might listen. I managed to get an appointment with the pharmacy who were brilliant and gave my son antibiotics (at this point the ear infection was making him violently sick) but she said if he gets worse phone GP again so the next day her was worse my partner phoned this time and after explaining everything what had happened conveniently got an appointment for that day which the doctor gave him drops. I feel so disappointed that my child who is a minor couldn’t get an appointment either in person or on the telephone with his own GP who should have a duty of care to him but what upset me the most was to be told appointments were blocked out.
