Doctors & staff always give excellent service with same day responses to requests for advice / appointments. The long queues for an answered phone call are recognised as part of the current situation within the NHS generally.
I try not to ask to see a Dr as often as I might have done in the past but when I have asked it has been difficult; I've been asked to call again and eventually was able to see a locum....this puts me off seeking help. Phone consultations and online form filling can also be a barrier to seeking help or advice.

Sometimes have to wait a while but usually helpful when you can get to talk to someone.
