the ability to get an appointment can be very hard and I find I normally have to book a fortnight in advance. if I ring up the morning its required I rarely get in, then am told to ring back at lunchtime for the afternoon. the receptionist tend to ask if its an emergency and if its not you're back having to try again the day after to go through the same. It's taken me a week to get in before and on the Friday I said yes, sorry its an emergency to me I want to see someone.

The Practice is excellent, friendly and satisfies all we as a family in the past and currently my husband and I in particular expect of a G.P's surgery. From the reception desk, nursing support to the excellent support provided by the G P's in general and Dr M Clarke in particular it well deserves our 5 star rating! The 'online' appointments system has experienced 'teething' problems and the website was a little confusing to come to terms with, but we are the better for sticking with the system!!

when you call or go in the receptionist are helpful and always have a smile on their faces, you feel that they will do anything to help you and go that extra mile to arrange an appoint for you. This can make it easier for you, and even save your life, in my case they did couple years ago, i walked in to see if i could get an appointment, they could see i was more ill than i thought i was and in a very quick time was seen by a doctor and arrange an ambulance for me to go to good hope, where my SVT was dealt with and surgery was a great success, if it had not been for the receptionist quick action, well who knows what could have happened

The overall service is professional and friendly. All staff be they doctors, receptionists, nurses or phlebotomists are superb. The only downside is it is difficult to get an appointment with your own doctor however, you will always be seen on the day you phone in an emergency.

The Hawthornes surgery is pleasant. I have been more than pleased with the care and attention of the doctors and nurses. I have, however, experienced frustration with the appointment system through being given incorrect information.
