I have been trying to make an appointment to see a doctor for over twelve months now. One is unable to make any form of appointment via the internet and when one calls it can take all morning to get through by which time, understandably, all appointments for that day have been allocated. One is then told to 'Try again tomorrow.' The same sequence off non-productive events follows, day after day. On two occasions over the past twelve months I have had to resort to going once to The Robert Peel Hospital in Tamworth (who were also unable to contact the practice) and once, after calling 111, I was referred to a nurse at the Badgers' Clinic at Good Hope Hospital. Neither event required attention at such a high level but I needed care and advice from a medical practitioner. I am a great supporter of the NHS but have been disgusted with the way GPs, in general, seem to have opted out of the care system since the start of the pandemic. It appears that they have forgotten about the Hyppocratic Oath, instead leaving the care and treatment of ill individuals to those in the hospitals who are already under extreme pressure. It is time this surgery installed a much better and easily accessible contact sytem and that the medical practitioners recommenced either seeing patients or speaking with their patients.

Suggested improvements
Make certain that patients can make an appointment/are able to see their doctor, one way or another.

Rude receptionists who are unhelpful. Had an experience with a Dr who tells me I am out of area and should be registered at another practice. I had called for my 1 year old son and this was the response from the Dr. Who gave absolute no treatment which I ending up leaving the practice. My son had a high fever and had a rash all over his body. However you can be registered as long as you dont request a home visit. Receptionists should look for another job if they cannot listen to the patient and have empathy. If you are working you cannot always call the surgery at the designated times so therefore exceptions should be put in place. Absolute shambles of a surgery and CCG gave a report of good in all areas I am very surprised.

Suggested improvements
Well you need to read your reviews and act upon it. Clearly you are not reading the reviews or comments.

I have been a patient at this practice for over 25 years and up until the last year or so they have been excellent. We are not (thankfully) regular users of the service as a family but I suffer with tonsillitis a couple of times a year. The last twice I have called to get an appointment I have repeat dialled from 8.25, 5 minutes ahead of opening time and despite getting surgery closed message, when I do get through I have an average 15 minute wait for the call to be answered and lo and behold, by the time I get through there are no appointments. None today and none tomorrow apparenrly. Only advice was go to some other clinic on Saturday or a walk in centre. Not helpful when you are feeling ill on the day. Absolutely not good enough and it was never this way before. I am now seriously considering changing GP as a friend is registered at a practice with phone triage and is always able to get an appointment. I am a senior manager in the NHS and have been for 20 years and if this is the experience of patients then it is no surprise that people go to A&E. The GPs at the practice are superb but the appointment system is beyond a joke.
