I rarely contact my GP surgery and avoid it at all costs due to constant unsympathetic attitude each time....Unfortunately, I was unwell a few months ago and phoned as I needed antibiotics, I literally phoned for 3 consecutive days and waited for over an hour each time to eventually be met with very unsympathetic receptionists who were verging on rude, who basically told me to try again the next day! I have just tried to book an advanced appointment for my child and was told there was nothing and to try to phone at 8am each morning! ...we all know where this is going!!!... This GP surgery is literally a joke, there is no standard of care displayed to patients whatsoever...more staffing is obviously needed, along with training in people-skills...

Suggested improvements
Better training for frontline staff employ more GPs for longer hours or a staggered system (not everyone can be unwell between 8.30-9.30am nor can they spend an hour waiting for their call to be answered or just walk out of work for an emergency appointment) consider better appointment system why not introduce on-line consultatations for simple queries, would save a lot of time and headaches for everyone Display a more friendly and sympathetic attitude

I have telephoned on two consecutive days to try and get, at least, a phone consultation. Both times I was told I was no appointments were available. During the second call the receptionist said I should get to the surgery at 0800hrs and join the queue waiting to get appointments. I was so unwell that I could not get out of bed. You need to employ more dedicated staff to answer the phones during busy periods so that people like myself with underlying issues can get some sort of service.

I tend to book online and wait until I can see a specific doctor. On the odd occasions that I’ve had to phone there are good and bad bit hit and miss you can get lucky with an appointment same day. I found the doctors here are very helpful and listen to you and do seem to genuinely care for their patients.

Suggested improvements
I think you are doing as good job as you can. I haven’t been upset by changing doctors surgery to here. The previous surgery I was with for over 25 years and they were taken over by a very uncaring doctor and have gone downhill ever since then.

It is becoming an absolute joke to get an appointment at the doctor's. You have to go in and get one as you can't get through on the phone. The doctors appointments are over a weeks wait so you get given a nurse appointment, only for that to be cancelled on the day and rescheduled for another week. You turn up for that appointment and it's been cancelled, only they don't have the decency to tell you. They tell you they don't have your number.... The number that they managed to call and reschedule your appointment last week! Poor, poor service!
