Hi, I don't recommend to register in this surgery. Getting care and majority of stuff to listen is a mission. Dr Julien, couldn't care less about your wellbeing. Couple of doctors are good and care. You don't get to see the same doctor so you have to repeat yourself constantly. Telephone consultation is new way of treatment (even before covid), it's basically self treatment. If your symptoms don't fall into 90% statistical medical cases you are likely not to get right treatment or advice. It's impossible to get hold of your test results if you want to get 2nd opinion from different doctor. Personally think that this surgery is great at protecting their annual budgets and providing poor healthcare to their patients.

Whilst the facilities are great, the culture at the surgery seems to be increasingly one of disdain for patients, and for treating them like idiots. This isn't all the doctors, and some are great - the worst offender however is one of the partners, Dr Julier, who is constantly dismissive and simply doesn't listen. The recent example which caused me to write this review is that I called the doctor some weeks ago with quite frightening symptoms that didn't seem to match some of the bugs going around. I carefully explained them and was reassured that it couldn't be what I thought it was and to just rest and call back in a few days. I did, and another doctor told me the same. Two weeks later my wife had some tests (she had suffered the same illness) and it turns out we were 100% right in the first place. Not that the doctors were going to tell us - we saw it on the online record, but then were told that as it eventually would go away of its own accord they didn't really need to tell us. I struggle to believe that two doctors weren't capable of diagnosing what is actually quite a common but scary condition with very distinct symptoms that they must have seen before. We think they were being pragmatic - don't scare the patient, just tell them to rest up as most likely whatever they have will go away anyway and samples etc cost money. I personally didn't want unnecessary medication etc but I do want honesty and openness so that I know what is happening and can manage myself accordingly, and not to be treated like an idiot. I now don't trust that this surgery would actually pay attention if something was seriously wrong unless I was on a current checklist. Will be looking for a different surgery.

Furnishings excellent. Receptionists - friendly enough. Doctor that I saw - not good at all. I have a chronic lung condition under the respiratory team at Jimmies. I get frequent chest infections and I need 10 days of antibiotics each time. 5 days will only make the bacteria resistant in the longer term. The letter from the specialist lung doctors said so already. Had 8 courses of antibiotics already in under 6 months, I need to be re-referred back for more specialist care. This time, 50ml green-yellow sputum, fevers every night for last 4 nights. Nasty productive cough. GP said NO to antibiotics, NO to re-referral back to respiratory medicine, and NO to even writing a letter to the clinic to find out when the next slot will be. Told me to phone them up myself. Said that I had a ?viral infection. No viral infection presents like this. What happened to Ideas, Concerns and Expectations? What happened to clinical management per NICE guidelines? I am not happy with the care I received. At all. Shiny GP building.

This practice has some major advantages and some disadvantages. The administrative staff seem to be a good team and seem to interact well, much better than my previous practice, which is an important issue in reducing errors. Some of the doctors however lack listening skills and are too insistent. Out of the five doctors Ive seen Ive found only two who seem as if they're really listening to me. At this practice there is a telephone "triage" system to call patients back to assess their medical need. I was told by the receptionist that I would be phoned back within 1 1/2 hours. I waited in for the phone call. As I had to go out on an important errand I called the surgery practice manager to see how long I would have to wait. The practice manager's assistant told me that the doctor doing the triage had 87 calls on that day so they were behind schedule. Clearly the receptionist had misinformed me about the time I would have to wait. In the end I had to take the phone call in the street as I was getting on the bus. Most unsatisfactory, and totally inappropriate for a medical consultation. I would say that for anyone with complex medical issues, this clinic would be totally unsuitable as it is very hard to get any continuity in the care delivered. For anyone with mental health issues I would not recommend this clinic: one doctor referred to my depression as my "mood" ....if only depression were a mood, Id be very happy ! There are some good doctors however, and they do work extremely hard.

Registering with the practice was quick and easy, and I was able to get a same day appointment by following the system of calling for a telephone appointment followed by an invitation to a normal appointment later that day. The surgery offers early morning appointments and some evening appointments, although I am not sure how easy it is to get these.
