Well like a lot of people of my generation we are not that good at tech and l also have several eye conditions that make using a screen a problem. So l thought l would wait in a queue to speak to a person to make an appointment, not knowing it cuts you off after 2 hours. I did though manage to finally get the link on my phone to work, all that to make appointment for annual review. Hopefully this time l will not get such a bad "white coat syndrome" and be given only a months supply of bp meds to see how l go !!!! l was at the time a stressed carer for my partner who passed away at the start of pandemic, hopefully l will be more relaxed.
The service must have improved since the last reviews? I just called, 3rd in queue and got through quickly.
The receptionist was lovely and gave me an appointment for a blood test tomorrow morning as requested.
I was calling in for my brother, he's a patient at the surgery.
I was very impressed with the service.
l am sorry to say this is a moan, again. l am a patient but also a carer for my 70 year old partner who has kidney failure after a triple A operation, and copd. We spent waited 1 hr and 3mins on monday to get through to a phone answerer to ask for someone to alter his repeat prescription. It gives us 2 fostair inhalers and one salbutamol, we would like 2 of each at a time, more logical and salbutamol gets used more. That would probably have been needed to be done by a doctor. We were told a prescribing nurse would call us back. A few hours later we spent 30mins getting through again to find no one was going to call but a prescription had been sent to the pharmacy, which we now have. We are of the older generation and not exactly silver surfer's so expecting us to do it on pc is not convenient, as I am sure a lot of your patients would agree. l am as l say a carer and always put his health first but have issues l ought to see a doctor about but tend to be put off by the way this medical centre runs these days. Do you need more staff to at least answer the phones, if so their are a lot of people out there that need a job !!! You get an appointment and arrive to find the automatic booking in system still isn't working so have to weight in a line of people just to say you have arrived, meanwhile your appointment time is passing by.
It's difficult to get a appointment with a doctor here when you do get through all the appointments are gone and if you have a urgent appointment what are you suppose to do. The surgery has changed for the worse it's not just the appointment system. Everytime I go there there is a different doctor who I don't recognise and I have to explain the same thing over again. Some of the doctors are still in training and can't comprehend my health problems because of their lack of experience as a doctor..
This was my 1st appointment at this surgery since my old surgery has merged. I called on the day to make an appointment to see the GP, I got a suitable time slot same day. Receptionist where very professional and swift. The dr Dobson is fantastic very caring polite and professional after diagnosis everything from scans and blood test where organised very quickly
