It is easier to get a guided tour of AREA 51 than to get an appointment to see my GP......When changes are made at the practice the patients are not kept in the loop and usually find out about the changes when you try to make an appointment or from a friend or such, for example it was normal practice to phone the surgery at 08.45 am if you needed a urgent appointment, when I phoned to make an appointment at 08.45am I was informed that all appointments had gone and I should have phoned at 08.00 which apparently is now the time they open the phone lines,seriously how are we expected to know these sort of things if no one tells us, there seems to be a lack of communication from the surgery, this shouldn't be happening in this day and age with all the methods of communication we now have available to us in our society, Also I am not sure why they call same day appointments "Emergency Appointments"surely if it was an Emergency you would go to the Hospital, in my opinion they are Urgent appointments which your GP should then decide if your problem is an Emergency or not, surely this is why hospitals have an A&E department....the E standing for Emergency
