Cannot get an appointment. On the plus side, no problem finding a car parking space. Don't know where all the patients are. Cannot believe all the GPs are working.

We strive to provide a consistently reliable service and an excellent level of patient care. Nationally, we are seeing an increase in demand for GP appointments and we are also experiencing this locally, which means we are busier than ever. We do have an Urgent Care Clinic for appointments on the day. The Urgent Care Clinic is sit-and-wait at the Giggs Hill branch. This site has a very spacious waiting room and there is a large onsite carpark available to use. As a result of the relocation of this clinic, the demand for parking at Glenlyn has been reduced. The Urgent Care Clinic caters for sudden problems like sore throats, rashes and fevers. Patients have access to experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who can diagnose and prescribe for these conditions, just like doctors. They have taken additional qualifications in diagnosis and prescribing. The Advanced Nurse Practioners are also able to direct complex cases to doctors at the surgery if there is a need. By ringing either Glenlyn (0208 979 3253) or Giggs Hill (0208 398 8619), GP and nurse appointments can be booked at either location that you choose. You can call and ask for a ‘prebookable appointment’ at any time. There is a rolling programme of releasing ‘prebookable appointments’, so that there are appointments available daily. The majority of appointments are released at 8 am and do go very quickly despite the number of appointments we have to offer. We also have the facility to book certain appointments online. To take advantage of this, please visit the Practice for this to be arranged for you. We appreciate your feedback and your comments will be used as part of our staff training, in order to improve the level of care we provide.

I dont normally have a problem with your surgery but i did today. I had an appointment with a nurse today, arrived 5 minutes early, went in and logged on machine in reception and it said 0 waiting minutes, sat down in waiting room, after 20 minutes of waiting after my appointment time i went to the lady on reception and i asked if the nurse was running behind after waiting 20 minutes, the lady on reception looked puzzled and said i dont know what shes doing in there, as there wasnt a patient in front of me. She messaged the nurse then 5 minutes later knocked on her door to which is when the nurse came out and called me in. 5 or 10 minutes late wouldnt of been too bad but 25 minutes late is just not on.

This is one of the worst run surgeries I have ever been a part of. The appointments system fails on every aspect. Unable to book appointments on the day, just a sit and wait for up o an hour and a half...handy when you have young children or have to be back at work. Things change and you are not informed, you never see the same doctor, they have no practice manager and when they are on holiday here is just an office supervisor. There is no professionalism or care for their patients. Avoid if you can.

It is essential to be able to book pre book able appointments. The current appointment system does not work.

Cannot believe how much this practice has gone downhill - at third attempt of phoning for appt for infected injury - was offered a sit & wait at Giggs Hill green - so car drive, and 30 min plus wait at surgery for 2 min consult to get antibiotics. A skype call would have been better! Hate to thik how a non driver is supposed to get to Giggs Hill - when signed up to Glenlyn. Of course had to drive back to latter to pick up prescription. To add to lack of efficiency the self book touch screen doesn't seem to work - so having self arrived myself - I had to repeat to receptionist who confirmed screen didnt accept my arrival. At least the cynic in me says it helped while away some of the 30 min wait

We continually strive to provide a consistently reliable service and an excellent level of patient care. We do have an Urgent Care Clinic for appointments on the day. This Clinic caters for sudden problems like sore throats, rashes and fevers. Patients have access to experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who can diagnose and prescribe for these conditions, just like doctors. They are also able to direct complex cases to doctors at the surgery if needed. The Urgent Care Clinic has limited capacity. When it is full to capacity, patients, who feel they have an urgent problem, would need to attend a walk-in centre or A&E. Alternatively, they could try the next day for an appointment. A small number of appointments are available at Glenlyn for frail and elderly patients who are genuinely unable to travel to Giggs Hill. We would have expected your prescription to be issued when you saw the clinician. Without further information, we are unable to comment on this occasion. If you would like to contact the practice, we can look into this matter further. There are a number of projects in the NHS to help Practices extend online access for patients. We are currently unable to offer appointments by skype to patients. However, we await developments with interest. The booking touch screen is now working.
