The receptionists are so kind and helpful. Very proffesional. It has been a difficult time for both receptionists doctors and us patients. But although i would prefer to see dr face to face sending a picture did help the diognosis. I cannot thsnk everyone at the practise, especially the receptionists for all your kindness when i was upset.

Suggested improvements
I know everyone at pracrise very busy but would have liked blood tests results to be sent bit quicker so i don't worry.

2 main issues; (1) high turnover of doctors / no consistency in medical team. You never ever see the same doctor and trying to do that is exceptionally difficult due to the long lead times to book appointments in advance. There definitely isn’t that friendly caring medical side at the centre like it used to be many years ago. I cannot count the number of time blood tests and urine samples have gone missing and not been accounted for too. (2) reception staff and just an overall lack of care and compassion for patients. On numerous occasions have been left down by reception staff. I know there must be a great deal of pressure with a big practice but there are some huge training elements missing with reception staff. The key one being the ability to really listen, care and compassion. People aren’t out to get you or cause problems intentionally - they are often very ill and often desperate. Of course the reception team have procedures to follow but they sadly they can’t seem to work outside these parameters - especially with patients with serious pre exciting medical conditions. For example, our child 3 and half had a very bad cough and her asthma wasn’t great she also had a fever (she has a long history of asthma from an early age - Firsway health centre are well versed with this and see here very frequently). She was seen a few days before by this medical practice and sent home (a virus). On the day in question we didn’t ring for an emergency app at 8am (that is the time you have to ring) as she was sleeping in the morning (had a bad night due to illness) so when we rang at 9am the reception team flat out say they will not see her. “Go to Trafford general walk in” - now the thing is we have done that before but they do not have medical notes and due to her history it is important the doctor knows her full medical history. She was very tired and poorly. In desperation have to ring back 3 times speak to a reception manager and beg for them to see her. We didn’t think she needed to go to hospital ourselves at that stage but knew she needed to be seen again by a doctor urgently. We get told to come in at the end of the day. She is sick in the doctors surgery for all reception staff to see. They give her sick buckets. Yet she is not seen by a doctor until 6pm that evening. She is immediately told she has suspected meningitis, given an emergency shot of penicillin and blue lighted to hospital. It was truly frightening. She ended up with very bad pneumonia and was in hospital for 3 days. This is just one horrendous example in a list that I have. Why not see a child earlier? Especially one with a pre existing medical condition like asthma? There is definitely a huge disconnect between the reception staff and patients. It’s like the patients are a bother to them. It’s a shame. Every single thing is a battle with them. Everything is an issue. Nothing is ever straight forward and it is always so defensive. I know many people who go To this practice and not one person has a good thing to say about them. Where did it all go wrong?

Absolutely appalled with how the practice operates. I have had a lung infection since September and the attitude from the reception is book an appointment (over a week away) or call in for another emergency appointment ( another day off work waiting for a possible appointment). I feel there is no personal relationship between doctors and patients as every time it is another doctor. To make it worse my new ten month year old child has been in multiple of times and they do not seem interested or can put two and two together. I will be raising a complaint with the hope that the practice can positively engage with my criticisms and implement some controls to fix them. More pro activeness required and more of a drive behind the practice to help people rather than just the patient.

every time and i mean every time i have anything to do with the surgery something is not right or goes wrong. I don't mean with the doctors but to do with the administration. every repeat prescription is either not sent to the chemist or is lost and trying to order repeat prescriptions on the internet is impossible but the worst is trying to get through on the phone. it can take 20 minutes plus before a person answers. terrbile.

Clean, professional and polite but, I do not always get the impression they actually care. I'm not a model patient but do still hope they would care.
