So for me personally, during the lockdown in February, I was asked to use online, but they never asked photos and I was misdiagnosed 3 times, up until in May I finally got seen. I was taking all this unnecessary medication while breastfeeding!!!
Then for my child. In mid July..when the lockdown is lifted, they still refuse to see my 7 month old baby and said that doctor would call. The doctor called and asked for pictures and said would call back and never did... completely neglected a baby...I have no words.
Ask photos while you're on the phone, do not hang up. Also involve patients in decision making! Not just send a text saying "your prescription is ready" when we didn't even discuss anything!
Years back I mentioned I was in agony over my spine and luckily I had private healthcare who spotted I was a week away from being made disabled and gave me a fusion. Unfortunately east Hampstead surgery didn't spot the severity of it... Could have been an absolute disaster...thank goodness I had private healthcare! When going back and I mentioned the back problem again and that I needed physio on the NHS they just plied me with tablets. Surely I, as a British citizen who has worked from the age of 15 and has always paid my taxes should be entitled to the nhs funds? I paid privately for my actual operation so why is the dr resisting using the nhs funds for this???
When trying to book an appointment... It's incredibly frustrating as its near on impossible.
Excellent Triage service. Efficient message taking and prompt call back. Worked well for me.
Disappointing that the ability to book online appointments seems to have deteriorated. It used to be very easy to get an appointment but now few seem to be available and all are a long way off.
I've got a named GP but he rarely seems to be present. Like most people i would prefer to see the same GP each time as this must build up some sort of relationship.
The reception team and the phlebotomist are all great - very helpful and friendly.
As I say, it worked for me today but there are some improvements that could be made to booking and availability for non-urgent matters.
Online appointments are only available 3 weeks ahead. This is unacceptable. I was told only one doctor at the surgery could give me the treatment I required. When I went online his name was no longer in the appointment list. The phone triage system is disliked by all patients I have spoken to.
once there my experience was good. My problem is I have no idea who my doctor is anymore. I had to wait 3 weeks when booking an appointment on- line and a further 3 weeks for my treatment. I am no longer able to book an appointment with the practice nurse on-line, and I am not allowed to book an appointment with my preferred nurse who knows my history and problems
Would I recommend the practice? - probably not, but are other Bracknell practices any better?
