My doctor is very good. I can get appointments on-line. I can get repeat prescriptions on-line. blood pressure clinic is good. Hearing dept. is good. I have had scans at the surgery. i would like a longer time at my appointment - i feel under pressure because the doctor is so busy. 10 minutes is not always enough time to explain the total picture of my feelings about my health. I would like bloods to be taken and analysed at the surgery

I had to make several consecutive visits to the East Cliff Practice in June of this year. The majority of these visit were on an urgent basis. I called on the morning of two of the visits and the reception team were able to book me in for an appointment later that day without any hassle. On another occasion I called later in the day but was still able to come in that evening for an urgent, five minute appointment. The reception staff were friendly and helpful on all my visits and over the phone. Sometimes it took them a while to find my information on the system as I could never remember the name of my doctor, but this is not something that I feel the need to complain about, particularly as I was slowing the process by not remembering the name. I saw three different doctors on my visits - all locum doctors. The first, a young, female doctor, was pleasant and helpful. The second, also female, was efficient. The third, an older male doctor, was extremely nice and scheduled me in for a return visit to check my condition with him personally even though he was only the locum doctor and not my own GP. I thought this was really nice of him and made me feel like a valued patient who's needs were being met, particularly as it saved me having to explain my case to a fourth doctor. Unfortunately, I never actually met my own GP during my time at East Cliff Practice. I did book in for a general appointment soon after I registered with the surgery but this appointment was subsequently cancelled as my doctor was absent due to illness. I didn't have time to reschedule it before I fell ill and required the urgent appointments.

Fortunately, I have never had to make an urgent appointment for the same day or next, so have no idea if there are any difficulties there. I use the internet booking system well in advance with no problems.

Being able to book appointments on-line is really helpful as it allows me to see what is available and means I do not get frustrated with a lack of information. I find all staff approachable and friendly. I am able to voice my concerns. What might be helpful is a text saying when a doctor is running late.
