This is the ultimate surgery of exactly why patients go directly to A&E and clog up the queues for emergency patients ! Ive even had the phone put directly down on me after I waited an hour and a half from exactly 8.00 am as I was told to do & then you are just placed on a mundane recording & then when they do finally answer after the period of time above .. they put the phone down on you. This system has now been replaced to when you ring, if you can get through, you are then told you will be contacted back....Doesn't happen ! So you can either wait 3 and a half wks for an appointment with the gamble that a doctor might be there who you have never heard of or seen before, or simply have no contact back what so ever ! Even when you actually go up there to cancel your prescription or repeat meds in person, they still prescribe them, let alone get your orders completely wrong with your designated pharmacist anyway. What a complete waste of taxpayers money. Surely some sort of governing body must overlook practices like this as I find it hard to believe how an earth they get away with it ?? How can these "caring" staff even accept their wages after sitting around yapping, never smiling, extremely rude to patients even after them being the ones completely at fault with patients meds, provoking patients so as they can then use the usual zero tolerance victim thing that they now play on to reduce patient lists. There is currently a doctor there of german descent at the moment that pretty much shouts at patients to show off to student nurses. I think they've only had one permanent doctor there that's lasted over 3 months ! You would have to experience the whole charade from making an appointment to actually seeing someone to understand exactly what a tax wasting utility this place really is. It would seriously be more help to folk if they simply turned it into a pharmacy ! That is my only constructive suggestion as this place has been left to go way too far beyond rectification ! No wonder this surgery has been in the bottom ten in Devon for performance in the last 9 years as shown in the Plymouth Herald ! Patients have simply been scared of speaking out or giving any of the rudeness back due to fear of being removed from the list, simple as that, and in the process, giving the "staff" a very easy ride for way way too long ! A very very worrying place, especially if you rely on help and care.

I have been at this surgery for 20 yrs. Although it has change recently, lost a few members of the reception team that we were familiar with, it is still a lovely surgery and a damn sight better then some of the other surgeries in and around Plymouth. Friendly staff and Doctors who listen to you.

i don't have a life threatening illness thankfully as it is impossible to get in to see a doctor you ring at 8 oclock it takes half an hour or so to get through only to be told there are no appointments left and you have to tell the receptionist why you want an appointment they then say we dont work that way any more we are on a HUB and the Doctor will decide if he will see you most of the time he wont but he will ring you back so you wait all day for a phone call i dont think i should have to tell a receptionist why i want to see the Doctor because that is between the Doctor and myself what ever happened to Doctor Patient CONFIDENTIALITY you cannot be told about a member of your Family because it is Confidential so why should you have to tell a complete stranger why i want to see a Doctor

I recently contacted the surgery regarding my mother's medication as it was not showing on her online medication ordering system. They confirmed that they had received a letter from the hospital but there was not enough information on the letter. Instead of contacting the hospital or my mother, they did nothing which has now left my mother in a situation of not being able to order the medication. It's a shame they don't use some common sense.
