I have been a patient of the Cross Deep Surgery for about 30 years. Not unexpectedly over that period I have had various health problems including in 2014 needing to be hospitalised for surgery. Throughout all of that time I have received care and attention of the highest quality, from the receptionists, from the nursing staff and from the doctors. I am very please to have this opportunity to express my thanks to all.
I cannot find any fault with this practice. I find the doctors highly professional and caring, as are all the staff.
The reception staff have a very difficult job to do and they handle it well, given the volume of patients they deal with.
The only problem I have had has been with the check-in technology, which did not check me in!
As a doctor's wife from another practice, I have considerable insight into how a surgery runs and I would not have a moment's hesitation in recommending Cross Deep Surgery.
I'm sure this is a perfectly normal, functional surgery. My Husband was reffered here by our GP for an ultrasound. He is extremely nervous of any medical procedures or contact so I always accompany him to keep him calm and make sure he isn't too nervous to answer questions properly. While I have never been stopped in the past from taking care of him, the ultrasound professional refused to allow me in with him. I tried to explain but she said there simply isn't room for you to sit and closed the door with my husband inside. He was rather upset after the whole thing, make to feel very anxious about something quite simple. The attitude wasn't necessary, and I was quite happy to stand in a corner if it meant looking after my loved one.
This practice used to be great. Now when you ring for an appointment it seems impossible to get the same week. I tried last Monday morning and there were no appointments with any doctor until the following week. I think that is unacceptable.
I have ticked "not at all" for the involvement in care question as it is not possible to be involved when you can't actually get to see a doctor.
Reception gatekeepers have been a problem for many years and it still hasn't been fixed, it nearly caused major problems for me.
