The whole team at Cricket feel as though they have invested in my recovery. The nursing team have proved themselves to be second to none in their care attention and professionalism. Whilst I look forward to not needing my bi weekly appointments I will remember them as positive helpful and healing experiences.

I called the surgery on Thursday afternoon and spoke to a lady who was able to get me an appointment for the next day. On the phone, I did explain that I needed help in starting the process to get my gastric band removed as I am really struggling with it. I have also explained that I can feel some lumps on my armpit and would like to have it examined by a professional. The lady on the phone was very kind and booked me in. On the day of the appointment I have arrived with plenty of time before my scheduled appointment so I went in and signed in on the machine. My name was called within minutes and I went into the doctors office. I was treated by a male doctor who asked why I was there so I explained that I had my gastric band for almost long time and I have been struggling with it for quite a few years where I choke at every meal, he asked where I got done and I explained that it was done abroad to which he responded that I should be going back to get it removed where I had it done. When I explained that that wasn’t possible he told me that the gastric band isn’t the issue but my throat. I explained that this was always an issue ever since I had the gastric band put in which was almost 10years ago. He then said that he does not provide services like this but even though he doesn’t know where he would need to send the letter to he would write a letter for the band to be removed. At this point no examination had taken place to my gastric band nor my throat. I felt like I was not going to get anywhere with my issues and felt pretty much dismissed as if I just waisted 2 minutes of his life which he wasn’t going to get back. I then moved on to my other issue with the lumps under my armpit but was quickly shut down by the doctor who told me that it’s probably nothing and he does not have the time to entertain me any further and told me to get another appointment . Again no examination took place and I was dismissed from the office. My appointment lasted less than 3 minutes and no help has been provided. I then had to go back to the reception tone book the same appointment that I was already there for.

The doctor didn’t seem interested in anything that I was saying, it felt like he called me into his office just to check me off the list of patients that he had to see that day.
