From first contact with the team of professional and helpful receptionists to the consultation with clinicians (GP;ANP;NP;nurses; HCA) my experience has been consistently positive. All patients prefer to access health advice without delay so I am particularly impressed by the receptionists who do their best to ensure a patient has a timely appointment. The greater flexibility to opt for consultations either by 'phone or at the equally excellent Blaydon GP hub is much appreciated. I haven't yet used the on-line appointment booking system and while I will do so when necessary, I wonder about the fairness 'impact' on those many patients who cannot yet use/access the technology. The surgery facilities are good; and the provision of some extra clinics/service to meet particular needs is reassuring development.

Apparently the surgery opens its doors at 0730 and the phone lines open at 0800, in my experience the phone lines go unanswered. If you work for a living you may as well head to a walk in centre as you aren't getting seen this week.

Thank you for your feedback. The phone lines are generally very busy in the mornings and we do ask patients to ring with non-urgent queries after 11am. We release same day emergency appointments each day and we also have a doctor on call each day who can call you and will see you if needed. We never turn away a patient who needs to be seen urgently. Visiting a walk-in centre when your GP Surgery is open costs the NHS substantially more than visiting your GP. If you need to be seen urgently, we will do our best to accommodate you or we can signpost you to the best services. Please help save valuable NHS funds and do not use walk-in centres when your GP surgery is open.

Whenever I make an appointment I always try and see the nurse practitioner. She always listens carefully to you and I have always been 100% satisfied with the care and support she has given me.

2 weeks for an appointment. Rude receptionist and a practice manager who doesn't return calls. Very poor
