Thank you for another 2 week wait before speaking too a doctor, I wish I could say its a good practice but unfortunately it's terrible, receptionists are rude and non helpful and doctors seem non existent. The level of professionalism is extremely low and very poorly run.
This surgery has declined significantly over the last few years, the reception staff are curt and unhelpful and the fact that they have been nominated to ask personal questions about why a patient wants to see a doctor in my view is completely unacceptable. Prescriptions completely wrong and could have been disastrous if we hadnt noticed the error
I have only stayed with the surgery because of the great care of the doctors and nurses in the practice. If it was down to the reception staff they wouldn't have any patients. Every time any of the family go there we are greeted by faces that look as though they have trodden in something bad and you are putting them to a lot of trouble by interrupting their giggly conversations going on. How they manage to keep their jobs is beyond me. If I were to behave in this manner I would've been let go.
My experience of Cosham Health Centre is limited because I am in the fortunate position to be in good health, and I hope I continue to be this way, but I need to share my recent experiences of my 84 year old dad, husband and son who have had various problems that required help.
Being the person who is nominated to make appointments, I have found that the reception team are empathetic, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to be of assistance.
All three have the same doctor who is kind, listens and explains everything to put your mind at rest.
My dad had to have a major operation and his doctor actually calls to check on his well being. He also allows me to accompany my dad as he has hearing difficulties and is afraid he will miss something.
We never feel rushed, and never feel like a nuisance. Everything is so well organised, we have never waited more than 5 minutes.
My sons test results were rushed back to him because he needed all clear for a job, and again, this was beyond the call of duty.
My husband went for a relatively minor complaint and his doctor offered a complete MOT because he hasn't been seen for a few years.
We can't thank the practice enough, they are an amazing team and we are so fortunate to have them.
A good sized practice, located in a good location with lots of car parking, doctors are very friendly and helpful. Practice let down by the sometimes by rude reception staff. Can be a bit of a lottery when seeing a nurse, 1 very good, 1 not so.
