I came to Charing Surgery to have minor outpatient surgery and got lost on the way, which left me in floods of tears because I arrived late and thought I had missed the appointment that I had waited so long for. Not only was I still seen, but the nurse on the door could not have been kinder to me - she is an absolute credit to the surgery.
I was then seen by the most wonderful surgeon who was kind, considerate, patient and tolerant and most of all: extremely professional. His colleague Kerrie was absolutely lovely as well, she was both knowledgeable and caring, and adapted her behaviour to keep me calm. I suffer from anxiety and Kerrie literally held my hand throughout the surgical procedure to calm my fears and palpitations. The staff at this surgery came across as the very best of the NHS and I cannot recommend the staff, the surgeon, his colleague Kerrie and the surgery enough. Thank you so much for your patience with me today, it really was very much appreciated.
I had a lump on my back, called the surgery and Dr Warrilow called back and asked me to come along after his last patient that day. He inspected the site advised it was quite probably a chat and would book it in to be removed. This took around 8 weeks which in the current climate was good. He performed the procedure, explaining everything clearly so I felt reassured and relaxed throughout. Very good clinical care.
I had an appointment with the nurse today at 1.45pm 21st December, the nurse was very professional but also very friendly which made me feel very comfortable. She was very infomative and guided me through evrything so i understood how things will progress, i would just like to say a big thank you to her.
I rang at exactly 8am on 29th November I was 2nd in the queue. Once answered my details were taken for a today appointment and was told. I would be rung back as their internet was down - fair enough I thought. But at 13.00 still no call back I thought I’d better ring again as my appointment is for today. 20 minutes later I get through to the most rudest woman ever who told me I’m third to ring after 2pm - I politely asked third for you to ring me back or my appointment is third after 2pm . THE DOCTOR , was the very rude reply - shocked at such a poor attitude and then said well sorry I had to clarify but you didn’t ring me back so I didn’t know what you meant - she signed loudly and put the phone down. I’m sure this must be the same woman that refused to make my next appointment the doctor asked me to make on my way out of the surgery last Thursday , but told me I had to go home and ring up, ( I was standing in front of her ) when I got home it took me nearly 15minutes to get through to do what she could have done whilst I was standing there- well I hope it’s the same woman or you have two rude unfriendly receptionists at the Charing surgery, which is a shame as the doctors and nurses are all fantastic
The telephone pre recorded message is extremely long, and once through to the relevant option I have been cut off several times. Some reception staff are excellent and couldn’t be more helpful, others not so much and could do with further training.
Several visits over the year have highlighted the brilliant work of a few of the team. We’ve received brilliant care from Dr Knottenbelt and Kerry Lee, and also Penny in the Pharmacy. These people should be recognised for their care of patients.
