I have been with this surgery for many years and I have seen deterioration in the standards . Time allowed in consultation is limited and as I have profound hearing loss communication is difficult especially at reception where everyone can overhear interactions with desk staff . Appointment are difficult to get and we are only allowed one ailment per appointment . When I had a Breast lump I was told no appointment was available even when I had to say verbally at the desk why I wanted to see a doctor . I was still told no appointment , so I used one I had made regarding my B/ P toget seen . I have ask many times why a visual display could not be installed when calling clients through as it it not always possible to hear who is being announced on verbal tannoy . The explation I was given was - patients confidentiality ! So it's ok for everyone to hear my name being announced but not to see it !! And it's ok to hear me tell a receptionist that I have a breast lump at the desk ! I have set up systems on line which has helped a lot in so much as I can review my test results- at one time I could book an appointment but that is no longer available I was also able to view my consultation and that was helpful , because I could check I heard all what was said .i did write a letter to the practice manager months ago ,but had no reply . When I ask to speak to a nurse I am given an HCA - there is a difference. There have been many Drs come and go and I have had several different Drs over the last 4 yrs . So although they can see on the computer background information it does mean care ca be disjointed . To sum everything up as things are at the moment - the GPS that I have seen have been tip top in their investigation s and referrals to appropriate consultants , I feel the time pressure is always an issue . Often ancillary workers give out incorrect information and aren't always qualified to do so . I think that's all I have to say .!
