Impossible to get in touch by phone early morning - they always claim to be busy but I have seen receptionists chatting with each other and ignoring ringing phones. Doctors OK but receptionists are very unsympathetic and think the service is run for their convenience.

The doctors are very good, Dr Shier in particular is a knowledgeable, caring GP. However the reception staff are shockingly rude and unhelpful. It is ridiculously hard to get an appointment, the process seems to change weekly and anyone with a job has no chance of getting a time that is convenient.

Very positive experience. Easy to use the online system to get a routine appointment - and then a decent waiting environment followed by an efficient and friendly consultation. Given the pressure the NHS and each surgery is under I felt well cared for and never rushed. Was given time to undertstand the issues surrounding my problem and referred for follow up. Also good that other services such as Physio etc are available in the same Health Centre. Feel very lucky to have the Cedar practice and JSHC on our doorsteps.

I have been going to the John Scott Health Centre since i was born and have been attending the Cedar Practice ever since it started and although a Group practice i always try to get an appointment with my main Doctor as she has known me for over 18 years. I primarily have a severe/acute mental health disability but my Doctor and the Receptionists always give the impression that i am as welcome and as important as any other so called 'Normal' patient, i have never felt discriminated against or suffer from any stigma. I have only been under the supervision of my GP for so many years i cannot remember and if there is anything to do with my mental health outside her knowledge she researches and gets advice from senior Psychiatric professionals. My GP and the Practice always remember my regular checks due to my age and my particular medication which has very dangerous side effects. My GP has always been particularly supportive as i have changed careers due to unemployment and now myself have been working in the mental health field as a volunteer and worker having been a mental health service user and can give something back to the NHS and other service users suffering from or vulnerable to a mental health disability like i have over the years. I cannot think of any other improvements and use the online prescription service and will be setting myself up for the online appointment service soon. Finally i feel the Service and my GP and the support i have got has meant that i have kept extremely well i.e. in the past 9 months i have only needed 1 GP appointment and 2 other appointments for blood to be taken to test my medication level as described above. Prior to that i had not needed to see my GP for 18 months. I self-manage by mental health disability but it really helps to have such wonderful support and care available when/if i need it.
