It can take up to two weeks to get an appointment, and whilst I appreciate this filters out unnecessary appointments, it drives people to seek emergency help from A&E.
A two week wait for an appointment is shocking. Sort it out guys. Doctors are OK, building and facilities are new and beautiful, appointment system online is great, but the lag in getting an appointment is just ridiculous.
I find the Burncross surgery to be really pleasant. The receptionists are very kind and helpful. The waiting is never too long. The waiting room is hardly overcrowded when I go there. I love booking on the online system, it's a lot more practical than on the phone. The clinicians I have seen so far are all very nice.
Booking an appointment either on line or by telephone is not a problem, but if you wish to see a specific doctor then the waiting time can take an extraordinary long time, even booking to see any doctor available can take a frustratingly long time too.
My experiences over last several months have been of confusion. Several tests have been carried out on me without any medical feedback and I've had to make an appointment to find out the outcome of some of these tests. Teething problems are still occurring with prescriptions necessitating toing and froing between the practice and the chemist. Currently my wife's prescription requires two on line submissions and two visits to the chemists because certain items are only accessible at different times to other items. On 13th October 2014 I had a prescription review with Doctor Croft and my latest prescription now indicates that the next review is 30th November 2014 some six weeks later.
The queueing system now being used appears to be causing more delays than we've experienced over the past 40 years we've been patients.
to long to get a appointment to see your own gp
