I am a newish patient at this surgery and although the doctors and nurses are great, the receptionists need to improve their attitude to the patient. There is one receptionist who works there who is absolutely lovely and so helpful but there is another who is totally the opposite. She is abrupt, rude and can make you feel totally uncomfortable. I have worked as a doctors and A&E receptionist and always tried to make the patients feel comfortable, people only visit the doctors when they feel ill and don't want to be made to feel a nuisance.
It's no wonder doctors receptionists get a bad reputation if this persons attitude is anything to go by.
I have been a member of this practice for 10 years and have had nothing but excellent care, however, my experience of late has been nothing short of negligent. I realise that Covid is a priority but so is a potential tumour and despite offering to go privately to save the NHS in these times, a simple email referral has not been made. It is now 3 weeks since first appointment.
Reception staff are very friendly which is hard to find these days. I am a new patient and Sister Claire performed my first ever cervical screening for me. I was apprehensive about this procedure, just like many other women and Claire really put my mind at rest. She was so professional, kind, patient and informative and this led to such a positive experience for me. Given the current Covid outbreak she went above and beyond to ensure I felt safe and explained a lot in detail over the phone the morning of my appointment and before the procedure itself. I cannot thank her enough for this.
Horrible automated phone answering system. Horrible and impersonal TV screen summons patients to the Dr. Practice manager does not return calls or address complaints. On a positive note Dr I Collyer is wonderful, caring and understands my needs.
Its ok if you can get an appointment. However getting an appointment is a real challenge.
