Very difficult to get a phone appointment on hold approx 50 mins but after review was given a follow up appointment by dr which then resulted in a visit to hospital. Attended with a poorly 7 month old was given a very thorough review, check up and advice by Dr Emily Williams and due to concerns a follow up appointment was made for 48 hours later. On reattendance and no improvement a prompt referral was made and visit to Grange hospital. Dr went above and beyond ; very thorough , open to questions and relaxed empathetic manner to relax anxious parents. She checked previous history and gave us amazing service; this dr is a true asset to the centre.

I saw Tom Banning at the asthma clinic that was great. The down side was that he said the last asthmatic nurse I spoke to, who had said she realised from the telephone conversation that I was unwell so she would ring back before the end of March, I cannot remember whether this was last year or the previous year, anyway she did not phone back. Yet Mr Banning said, from what the screen told him, that she could not get hold of me. Well I can check my landline phone for the numbers that have called me. Of course she could not get hold of me because she did not phone me back. It wasn’t any more than I expected but please do not put on my notes that you could not get hold of me. Anyway Mr Banning asked if I had a smart phone yes I said so he suggested the Asthma Hub app great so this evening downloaded it and it is so poorly designed that I have to keep going back from this year to the year I was born!! Every other app where I have to put my date of birth in you can select with ease you year, month and day of birth. I cannot be bothered with such a badly designed app. The consultation with Mr Banning was extremely useful but the app and the nurse’s notes on my record are nothing but a joke. I do not wish to criticise but if a job is worth doing then at least do it properly. Yours Lindsay Wilding

I would like to give a big thanks to the nurse Meryl I saw today. I get super nervous about some appointments that involve a not very comfortable screening and she was so lovely and calming. She made me feel very relaxed and that it was normal to feel how I felt. She made the whole procedure very quick and easy. I couldn’t thank her enough for how she was with me today, a truly lovely woman and a credit to your team.

The only issue I have with Brecon surgery is the long voice recorded message when trying to make an appointment; I also find I quite hard to make an appointment and always told to call back at another time. I believe there should be an easier system for this.
