Getting an Appt at the 8.00am & 12noon stated time-slots are not always easy, as l call at the exact times and yet find that l am nos 8 - 12 in the tel. queue, and miss getting an appointment. We patients cannot blame the Receptionist Staff for that, as they can only give out available appointments. On two occasions that l missed getting face-to-face appointments, l was blessed to speak with two very kind & patient Receptionists who enquired as to my reason for calling, and once l gave this, l was offered two telephone Appts. On a 3rd occasion, l personally requested to see a particular G.P. for an Asthma & Diabetic review, and gladly accepted an Appt for the following week. We patients are aware that there aren’t enough G.P.’s to meet the primary care needs of us patients, and in times when we can’t get an Appt for the day the request was made, consider requesting for one for a few days time, or making use of other options such as the Walk-in Centre or Hospital A&E, which l have done in my manual wheelchair. I have also turned to NHS 111 for advice. The only reason why I’m not giving five stars here is that, l have noticed on quite a few busy occasions at the surgery, that none of the Admin staff (left their computers) to get up to assist the Receptionists, despite there being a long queue of patients including the elderly on walking sticks & crutches, and Mothers with their babies in pushchairs. I spoke up, kindly requesting that the Admin Computer staff assist the Receptionists which they did, but l shouldn’t have had to do that. The onus should be on them to assist the Receptionists during busy periods.

Suggested improvements
Get the Admin staff to help the Receptionist during very busy times. Practice Manager should observe any staff member who needs support, additional training etc and provide it, for if not, one not-so-competent-staff member gives the whole team a ‘bad name/reputation’!

I switch GP as i moved to far away from mu precious one. Suggested this practice. I been giving new antidepressants and left on my own with it. I’ve called several time and been told by a very annoyed and unprofessional receptionist that they were unable to help me, call the pharmacy or called back. I called once in tears and the receptionist told me to call 111 l because there was not Doctor available. My therapiat send them two letter which they never reply. I understand been busy in these times but the way the receptionist are dealing with patients is Embarrassing and Unprofessional! You never know what your tone of voice will trigger or else in who’s on the line.

Suggested improvements
If the doctor says to call back in two weeks i should be able to book a call with him and have the call back and not been told to call the pharmacist - if you received letter from therapist you should at least give a nod to say you saw it.

worse gp ever the female receptionists are pathetic and will take their time to answer the phone on purpose. This place will waste your time then make it seem like you’re in the wrong dont even want to give my name because then they are going to give me even more extremely bad service on purpose. When you are frustrated the receptionists will repeat 8x ‘there’s nothing we can do’ and not resolve the issue on purpose

Suggested improvements
Fire all of the immature, young and useless receptionists and also hire more receptionists because we shouldn’t have to wait 33 minutes to book an appointment. Also teach the receptionists how to be respectful towards all patients

This GP surgery is shocking. I have been with them for years and not one prescription has ever gone through on time. Often, repeat prescriptions are delayed for several weeks, leaving me without medication and allowing symptoms to recur. My pharmacy often has to give me advance prescriptions because of the surgery's incompetence. Their filing system is so terrible that I exist twice on the system and despite being reassured that this has been resolved, after six years, I am still on the system twice - causing countless errors. Despite the constant incompetence, there is never an apology or an acknowledgement of the physical consequences their mistakes have on people's health. I strongly advise against going anywhere near this surgery as they have zero value for their patients' health.

This is the best General Practice that my family & I have experienced! The receptionists are friendly, polite & helpful. The appointments run on time and are well communicated. The practice offers online bookings and a Saturday morning clinic. There are plenty of excellent doctors, who are experienced and very helpful. I've been completely satisfied with my care. The practice nurse is friendly, thorough and informative. There are on-site physiotherapy & phlebotomy services plus helpful drop-in-clinics (e.g. Haringey Council Benefits Advice). A truly outstanding General Practice! The management & staff deserve praise for creating such an effective health centre, especially given the current climate. Keep up the great work Bounds Green Group Practice!
