Impossible to get through on the phone, rude reception staff. All the doctors & nurse in this surgery that we have dealt with were really good, helpful and caring. That's were the good things unfortunately stop. It is pretty much impossible to get through on the phone to arrange appointment. The system is to call in the morning, however there is no answer more often than not - one morning we had to call nearly 200 times, only to be told there are no more appointments left by the time someone picked up. If you try to ring during the day they simply don't answer the phone more often than not. And then switch all the phones off between 12-2pm for lunch break. If you go in to try to speak to someone in person, the reception staff are incredibly rude and just tell you to call in the morning to book. If you explain you tried that 200 times and couldn't get through, the just shrug their shoulders and turn away from you. They appear to simply not care. We were trying to get an appointment for my partner as he was running out of important medication that you can't just stop taking without talking to the doctor - we were told by the reception staff this was not emergency and as such urgent appointment was not offered. The only reason we had to go through this as well was because the doctor only prescribed 28 days and asked to come see him to reassess after this time. The reception refused to book an appointment for 28 days time and said we would have to call closer to time. Ridiculous! In the end we had to ring 111 and get it prescribed by a GP from there.

Called to cancel a travel vaccination appointment for my partner but maintain my own. I had already paid £25 each as a deposit. After finally getting through to the surgery, an abrupt person on the phone told me that she wouldn't refund it. It wasn't as though I was inconveniencing them, as I was still coming in for the appointment. All I was hoping for was a bit of empathy. Not everything should be in black and white. No wonder these jobs will by automated in 10 years time. Doesn't help that they have a two hour lunch break when they turn off the phones.
