The great thing is u don't need to wait long as the prior appointments process make it smoother..and doctors listen carefully about the health problems..The thing which needs to be improved us the reminder process..they don't send the reminder for appointments..I have 6 months old baby but i didn't recieve any call yet for his general checkup in last 3 months..which i think NHS people used to do ..

It would help if you could book an appointment for future days instead of having to book on the day.

It is not always easy to get a same day appointment except by queueing in person at opening time For routine appointments the online booking system is great.

To my great surprise I have been able to get an appointment on the same day to see a Doctor - not necessarily the same Doctor. Whereas if you were not standing at the desk at 8:30 a.m.no chance previously. Great improvement!

You can get an appointment if you turn up at the surgery doors at about 8.15 and are prepared to wait until the doors open at 8.30. otherwise it is a case of phoning at 8.30 with you finger poised to redial and risk there not being any appointments left by the time you eventually get through. I do worry about whether those who are older/sicker may not find it easy to get an appointment when they need it.
