I work as an Expat and required inoculations - I asked for an appointment with the Nurse and whilst the drug was not in stock the surgery rang me to confirm a suitable date for the appointment - on time appointment - friendly staff - well done
Everybody ringing in at 8:30 can be a pain, but you do get answered eventually. Doctors being constantly behind (up to 1 hour) with their appointments is a real irritant, especially if I have had to leave work and need to return. That said, the Doctor's have been very good.
Some of the reception staff are great but they often seem harassed and rude. If they took a little more time to listen to your request then they would be less stressed by having to correct mistakes. I have sat in the waiting room and observed the staff (lady with long blond hair) be really rude to an older patient who was clearly muddled up and I felt sorry for him. When people visit the GP they are often frightened or feeling a bit vulnerable to so care and compassion from the front desk is really valuable. Always find the doctors and nurses helpful and give good care.
get rid of the 8.30 telephone log jam lottery, and have a more civilized method of booking an appointment.
Just changed back to this surgery, I moved for available appointments at hours that did not affect my work, but now that Biddlestone Road offers late Mondays, the quality of the care offered left me with no choice...
