Rang the surgery this morning Monday 28th December and this afternoon a recorded message said this surgery is now closed. No reason why or when it opens again. Just a reminder that if you have a life threatening condition call 999 or 111 for urgent medical advice.
Well done Beechwood Surgery just pass the buck.
I know it is difficult times for everyone but more advice is needed. The nhs has said “we are open for business “ for non covid patients, just not Beechwood Surgery. Appalling.
Have had two letters to get a smear test but it's impossible to get through. I have rung 15/20 + times this time and it just hangs up straight away. Have tried at different times and days. It was the same when trying to get an urgent appointment for my daughter. After constantly trying for an hour, we were put on hold for another 40 minutes. I have to work and can't spend all day on the phone so I guess I'll get another letter through soon.
I was booked in for a cervical smear routine appointment. Took ages for me to get through to make the appointment. Then I was rang by the surgery the day before to cancel it due to staff shortages/sickness (not sure which). Booked another appointment having to wait weeks for this type of appointment. Attended the appointment to be told I wasn’t booked in. On the receptionist asking what the appointment was for, I was told a letter had been sent out to me around 1400 hours the previous day cancelling the appointment as they did not want fit and healthy patients at the surgery for these type of appointments!!! How was I ever going to receive a letter to inform me my appointment was cancelled in time for an 0840 appointment the following day? Beechwood you have excelled yourself again. The receptionist was however lovely and extremely apologetic (not her fault). I appreciate the need for minimal appointments as such a time with the coronavirus however your communication is beyond poor. Sorry would not recommend this surgery to anyone. The surgery is welcome to contact me should you wish to discuss further.
Phoned this morning for an appointment only to hear message that you had to phone at 10am. phoned at 10am but was on hold for 30 minutes eventually gave up. I repeatedly tried to call through out the morning but was on hold every time. I got through to reception at 4.30pm and was told to call back tomorrow at 10am, I explained that I had already done this and was spoken to in an aggressive manner saying that I should attend tomorrow and book an appointment in surgery. When I asked if I did this when would appointment be I was told December!!. If this surgery can not handle the extra patients they took on from Eveswell surgery they should not of taken it on!! No wonder so many people attend accident and emergency at the Royal Gwent.
The doctors and pharmacists etc once you get see them are in my experience helpful and on the whole caring given time constraints however there the good news ends
Very hard to get an appointment the reception staff are rude and think they are doctors
Parking area non existent
Waiting room badly laid out and not maintained or very clean
