Dreadful experiences with this surgery. Near on impossible to get a gp appointment, even a call back - have been trying to get a call back for my very young son for days, only to be told there are no slots left at 11am, not even for emergencies. I was number 65 in the queue 2 days ago. I get told to go to 111 when they are full, despite my sons issue being a simple telephone call that is not appropriate for 111 or a pharmacist and needs a GP. No wonder 111 are busy if they are getting referrals like this. The clinician and patient balance must be extremely wrong for this surgery for access to be so difficult, particularly for those that may be more vulnerable such as newborns and the elderly. I have also found the GPs very dismissive and lack thorough review notes before appointments - I don’t mind someone googling something whilst I am there, but to tell me there is no treatment (when I, as a nurse, know there is) before then googling it is poor practice in my opinion.

Access needs to be much, much better.

Average wait time to get through is 45 minutes. The doctor does phone back eventually but by then you are sitting in a walk in centre. Trying to get an appointment is the most challenging thing you will be faced with this week.

For the most part I have been happy with Beechfield Medical. Receptionist have always been helpful when ringing. However, there is a doctor who I would refuse to see as i have found him extremely rude. The triage system means that a doctor or nurse rings you back (of which I have no problem) to ascertain if an appointment is needed. On two occasions this doctor has been extremely unhelpful and downright rude when he rang me. I needed to ring the surgery back on one occasion because I had no clue what he had said to me before cutting me off. This can be a problem when you are 20th in the queue.

Not at all, when I was asked to come forward to the desk she spoke to me but didn't look up from the computer once, not once did I have eye contact and not once did she smile/greet me. I have found that the majority of receptionists are in a league of their own, don't know who interviews them but they desperately need to improve
