I suffered greatly from REFLUX and was prescribed 20mg of OMEPRAZOLE. Since then there has been no repeat of the problem. My Practice sent me for an Endoscopy which was all clear.

I was prescribed this by a GP for acid reflux, which I experience nearly everyday! I don't take it everyday, just when the symptoms start to appear - I really don't know if it works as it is not instant...hours after taking Omeprazole I will still be suffering from painful acid reflux. Perhaps the next day, the symptoms have gone, and I can't tell if it has just went away on its own or it was the medication that helped - who knows! I was told that you must take it every day to see a benefit, so I might try that.

During chemo I was suffering from extreme nausea. I was prescribed six different drugs to help the nausea with no results. It was then suggested I should try omeprazole . Voila no need for anything else . I took one each morning and only had one day I needed to take a second one in the evening . I would certainly recommend thus drug in the future,

While receiving chemo I felt sickly constantly but was never actually sick. The hospital and my GP did everything they could - throwing no less than six different treatments for nausea at me . Then one of the nurses in ward 1 suggested omeprazole. I knew what this was and how it worked as I am a pharmacy dispenser. I was at the point where I would try anything - voila omeprazole to the rescue. All I needed was one capsule every morning and I was sorted.

Was given this as part of chemotherapy treatment to alleviate any stomach problems associated with the medication. I did not experience any acid problems while taking it. When I stopped taking when I completed chemotherapy I did have some stomach problems but these disappeared when I went back on Omeprazole.

Profile

Omeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Omeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
