I have had no side effects but it has changed my life day to day as I no longer suffer heart burn and indigestion all the time.

For me personally I have found these tablets invaluable, I'm on 30 mg a day. I do get the odd day where I have to take another tablet sometime in the evening, but this is rare!

It seems now that UK doctors are making efforts to reduce the proscribing of Lansoprazole. I’ve been taking it for many years now. My GP wants to see if I can reduce the dose or stop. As I have an hiatus hernia. Which was confirmed by a recent with a endoscopy. The GP says that it might not work out.

No side effects. Stopped the reflux problems. Only need one a day. Should I be having spicy food for dinner, say a curry, I take one prior to eating. This is as prescribed by my Doctor.

Profile

Lansoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Lansoprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
