The first side effect for me was nausea and a little tinnitus. Later came the jitteriness which lasted for a couple of weeks subsiding gradually. I'm now at the end of my first 4 weeks and feel 75% better already. Fatigue was the first symptom to go and my breathing and energy improved too. My stress rashes disappeared and I also felt generally warmer. I had a couple of days of low mood but my emotional lability has improved to the point that I feel I am now more in control. I am an older lady and my dose in 30mg. I don't feel I need to up the dosage at my next medicine review I'm not very tolerant of side effects generally but I'm glad I persevered with Duloxetine

I suffer with Generalised Anxiety Disorder which comes in episodes (usually lasting about 6 months with long periods of being fine in between) - it's very disabling and horrible. I've tried lots of different drugs in the past. Amytriptiline kind of works but has horrible side effects. SSRIs haven't worked for me. Diazepam is brilliant but of course highly addictive so I wouldn't take it unless totally desperate. However, having now been on Duloxetine for about a month I feel it really has made a big difference to me. I feel about 75% better and have got my appetite back. Side effects have been minimal (slightly funny taste in my mouth but that's about it). Such a relief.

At the moment I am reducing the amount that I am taking, since my mental health is much improved. (Psychotherapy was very useful and CBT to a lesser extent.) On the advice of a psychiatric nurse, I am doing this very gradually: for one month I took 60 grams one day and 50 the next, the next month I took 50 every day, and so on. As a result (?) I have avoided withdrawal symptoms.

I decided to try Duloxetine for depression and anxiety and was very pleased with how quickly I recovered from a very desperate state of being I suffer with bipolar but on 60mg this medication greatly helped my anxiety and gently lifted my spirits so I was in a positive and relaxed mindset The side effect of constipation I deal with effectively with sugar free lactulose on prescription Also unlike some other antidepressants I found I didn't suffer any sexual side effects with Duloxetine at this dose and also found this actually brought back my sex drive I found taking it at night just before sleep minimised this side effect I do feel more positive hopeful and have real wellbeing without being too high plus my panic attacks have stopped I did try 90 mg of Duloxetine but went too high so now stable again on 60 mg I feel my sense of humour is back and also as I am not feeling so ill am interested in life and people again My psychiatrist has told me this 60mg Duloxetine along with my regular 5mg Olanzapine will be my lifelong medication Also because I'm on 2 drugs do feel quite sleepy and forget things sometimes but recovering my wellbeing more than compensates for this. This drug has changed my life.

I can't say it helped my illness has more recently been diagnosed as anodea as well as other depressive illnesses. No side effects to mention, perhaps a little tiredness.
