I Have just had my 10th course of CAPOX chemo which is a combination treatment of oxaliplatin infusion a and Capecitabine over 9 days at home. It's important to have the DPD test ahead of this treatment to see that you can tolerate the tablets. So far no side effects and treatment is proving very beneficial.

This was my second round of chemotherapy, the last round being in 2015. The side effects this were far worse than last time (and they were bad enough), affecting my hands and feet with neuropathy, diarrhoea, nausea, nose bleeds & severe pain my nostrils, severe pain behind my eyes causing my eyes to water & not focus properly. More minor things were a bad taste and my pee smelled really bad. I also had a fair bit of brain fog, not being able to concentrate. I have now finished my last course but am a 12 week lockdown due to the Corona virus! This wasn't a pleasant experience but far better than the alternative.

I have taken Xeloda for 2 months with no side effects at all; these pills are much more convenient than infusion

Hateful side effects but if it works it’s better than letting the cancer spread

This is a very dangerous drug which killed my husband, who had early stage, curable bowel cancer. Some people can have a fatal reaction to this drug and you have no idea in advance if you are going to be one of them. People can be deficient in certain enzymes such as DPD or CDA and then the drug has fatal consequences. My husband died after taking this drug for only 3 weeks. He had the most dreadful side effects which were in fact the signs of a fatal toxic reaction. He died in a terrible way. Ask for a different drug.
