I was given amoxocillin liquid as I m sensitive ro capsule colours. I took it at 6 o clock last night by 6.30 I could nt breath. Wheezing badly and every breath I took felt as if my throat was closing even more. I was hot with a pulse of 110 and from my face to my legs I was crimson red and hot. It eventually wore off at 10 o clock in the evening but was a terrifying experience and definately would nt take it again. I ve taken the capsules before but never have I had such a severe reaction as this.

I was prescribed a weeks coarse of antibiotics... the infection has not completely cleared. I strongly believe this was not due to the antibiotics, I probably need another coarse to completely clear the infection!

Profile

Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that fights bacteria. Amoxicillin is used to treat many different types of infection caused by bacteria, such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin, or urinary tract. Amoxicillin is also sometimes used together with another antibiotic called clarithromycin (Biaxin) to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. This combination is sometimes used with a stomach acid reducer called lansoprazole (Prevacid).
