Keara is absolutely terrific! I attended the appointment extremely the anxious, but within minutes she put both me and my husband, Mike, at ease. She explained everything about the radiotherapy procedure and when I said that once I’d left her room, I would have forgotten everything she’d said, she immediately responded, saying that she would put a comprehensive review of our meeting in a confirmatory letter which she would email to me, followed by a hard copy in the post. This she duly did. She answered all our questions in detail. She then said she would give me some time to think about my decision, saying she would ring me the following Wednesday, 14th January, to hear my decision. When Keara rang I advised her that based on the information I’d received I’d decided not to have the Radiotherapy, but would be happy to take Tamoxifen for the next 5 years and that my doctor was aware of my decision. I thanked Keara for her help.

I attended the Rosemere Cancer Centre at Royal Preston Hospital in the summer of 2025. I was fortunate to be under the care of Keara McDonough, Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Keara always met me with a warm smile and a reassuring manner. She was thorough in assessing my care needs and evaluating my ongoing care during radiotherapy and supporting me to navigate my ongoing Cancer treatment. When I experienced treatment side effects she was quick to respond and provide effective clinical interventions. At a time when I was tired and overwhelmed Keara communicated and advocate with my surgeon and oncologist on my behalf to get the best treatment plan moving forward. I was very impressed with her as a reflective practitioner always looking to expand her own knowledge and expertise in order to get the best care for her patients. Nothing was too much trouble for her including arranging and picking up my prescription from the pharmacy for me. I would be happy to have any member of my family under her care. THANK YOU KEARA.

My busband my appointment with me and we were greeted very warmly by Keara and made to feel very welcome. She gave us a lot of information, always ensuring that we understood what we had been told. She answered all our questions and made me personally feel much calmer about forthcoming treatments. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, EXCELLENT SERVICE,

Keara was amazing when she saw me at the clinic. It seemed as if she had all the time in the world for me and that I was her only patient that afternoon. I’m sure I wasn’t. She was very knowledgeable and outlined all the pros and cons of radiotherapy for me, so I could make an informed choice. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable, so I was able to absorb all the information she was giving me. When I received the letter from her it was a very accurate account of the consultation - very well written and contained all the information I needed. Thank you Keara - this was an outstanding consultation for which I am very grateful. I expected this was going to be a stressful appointment but it turned out to be far from that.
