Throughout my long and difficult diagnostic journey, Professor Winter was always forthright and supportive; the information provided was consistent and explained well. My family and I were fully involved in the discussions about my care and were always able to voice all our concerns. A more conventional approach to my treatment would have effectively ended my professional career, forced me into early retirement, and had a potentially devastating effect on my personal life. Thanks to Professor Winter's clinical leadership, surgical experience, and professional resolve, I can now lead an almost normal life.

First met Mr Winter back in September 2019 after being referred to his department having been diagnosed with P16 positive cancer in my throat. From the first meeting he was re-assuring, positive and answered all my numerous questions explaining the process of the forthcoming operation and radiotherpy treatment that would follow. 32 months later having last week had my half yearly monthly check up post treatment Mr Winter was again present to answer what I am sure are questions he answers ever day in a manor that conveys re-assurance and for me confidence that I am being treated on an ongoing basis by a leader in his medical field of excellence.

Professor Winter has, throughout the past 3 1/2 years with his team, been a constant source of encouragement, knowledge and positivity. I nearly always arrive for my sessions feeling low and somewhat anxious, but then leave a couple of hours later, filled with renewed vigour for, and trust in the future.

From the very first meeting with Mr Winter I have received outstanding care. Mr Winter listened to all my concerns and took great care to acknowledge my phobia of hospitals. He was always quick to see me and allowed my wife to accompany me wherever possible. The standard of care that I have received both before, during and after my surgical procedure has been nothing short of fantastic. With each visit he made me feel like I was visiting an old friend I will remain forever in his debt.

I could not have asked for better care from Stuart Winter and his team from the bearer of bad news, through the surgical treatment and now the aftercare. I had a check today and all is fine.
