I was treated for throat cancer at the Churchill under Mr Winter’s clinic in May-July 2018 and in subsequent examinations and assessments until September 2023. My experience throughout the whole set of treatments was extremely good. I was treated well by all of the staff. From the first diagnosis to finally being declared clear of cancer every procedure was carefully explained and the treatment plan followed through as per the plan. I never felt anything other than cared for. I really don’t think I could have received better care or treatment. I have often said to friends a family that this experience though difficult at times is an example of the health service at its best. I was happy to pass on my thanks to Prof. Winter personally.

Having found Prof. Winter via the internet and read reviews, I was very pleased to meet him and find all the positive comments to be true. I was impressed by his straightforward honesty, clarity and very personable manner. He was absolutely clear about what he could do - and what the limits were. The latter point was refreshing: this surgeon is confident and inspired confidence in me, but he did not over-claim - and that was in itself a reassuring factor. He (and his colleague anaesthetist) did what they said they would do, and the result was excellent. I have no suggestion for improvement, I am a very satisfied customer!

The treatment and support I received from Mr Winter and the team around him, has been of the highest calibre. Conscientious, meticulous and thoroughly professional, Mr Winter is unwavering in his ability to convey a feeling of confidence and reassurance. These characteristics are shared by members of his team who were also outstanding - diligent, accomplished and able to instil a sense of calmness, during what has at times, been a very stressful period. Exceptional health care.
