After a number of consultations including Xrays and a MRI Scan and having had the whole procedure with possible associated risks I was booked in for the surgery.On the 6thJune, my 78th Birthday, my replacement knee operation was successfully completed by Professor Jari. From day one, due to good use of analgesics, I was pain free.
On the fourth day after the operation I was discharged having been instructed in the use of crutches. After two weeks at home I was walking without crutches. At the end of the two weeks I was able to use an exercise bike. Currently I am performing the exercises as prescribed and biking every day. I am totally pain free taking paracetamol only for post operative soreness. I have got to ascribe the success of the operation to the skill of Professor Jari. The care and management of the whole experience has been amazing. The Surgeon has a well honed machine at his finger tips. Subsequent consultations, dressing changes and physio have all been well co-ordinated.
