I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes forty years ago. For the last twenty years John has managed my treatment. As that time has passed my health problems have become more complex and different specialists have been added to my care team. However the interaction between different conditions is sometimes ignored by other heath practitioners. On the other hand John draws together the threads of the various illnesses and the treatments I receive with a holistic approach that is reassuring. He is not shy in pressing for changes to therapies whenever he sees that as appropriate. His recommendations have always been well received.

I feel very lucky to have found Dr New and would highly recommend him He is incredibly helpful, meticulous in explaining things and clearly cares that you understand your results and care plan. He listens and is empathetic. But most importantly I feel my health is in good hands.

Professor New is a diligent, empathetic and detail orientated clinician with an excellent bedside manner. He dealt with my condition with the utmost urgency and communicated very well at all stages. He supported me through a difficult medication challenge and went out of his way to provide a solution, he expedited an appointment for diagnostic tests and followed up with the results just as fast.

I can honestly say that Professor New is the best doctor I have ever seen. He is efficient, caring, responsive and open. He considers all aspects of the patient’s needs, taking a holistic view of patient care. He is extremely motivated to get you the right outcome. I think he has made a big difference to the quality of my health. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Professor New was so helpful to me. Following bariatric surgery my calcium levels had been gradually reducing. Spire arranged for me to have a blood test to check my levels which came back very low. Professor New agreed to see me at short very notice and did everything he could to help me progress with my care plan. He did a referal letter to my NHS consultant and also offered to provide the treatment at Spire. He was so genuine and caring, he was interested in what I had to say and didn't rush me at all. He has since followed up with me to check I had managed to arrange my calcium infusion. Overall I received excellent care from Professor New.
