A knowledgeable, kind, caring and professional doctor, who both listens to you and explains thoroughly until you fully understand your medical situation and care. Any patient is incredibly lucky to get him as their doctor! & a lovely Scottish accent too!

Professor Reid , listened to all my questions and analysed the information that I had bought with me. Then explained everything to me in detail and went through all my options with regards to medication, supplements, exercise and diet… something that seemed to be beyond my GP. He made me feel a lot more at ease with the situation and I felt like I could really trust what he was saying . I would not hesitate to recommend a consultation with him to anyone in a similar situation to myself.

I consulted Professor Reid for a second opinion after a rather uninformative conversation with my NHS consultant, who could offer neither a clear explanation of the result of the DEXA scan nor propose a way forward. Professor Reid went the extra mile to understand my case, quickly replied to my (many answers) and offered a solution.

Many thanks for these very positive comments. I do hope I listened carefully to your issues - I do try to work hard on this aspect of the doctor/patient communication.

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago and initially went to a (different) private specialist. Having followed that other specialist's exercise and nutrition recommendations to the letter for a year, my spinal T score dropped alarmingly during that year from -2.5 to -3.3. I decided to get a second opinion from David Reid. Only 6 months into my course of a year's treatment with him, Professor Reid has achieved a miracle for me and has more than reversed the previous year's bone loss. I really feel he has given me my life back. There is no comparison between my experience with Professor Reid and the other private consultant I saw. Professor Reid is at the cutting edge of the latest osteoporosis treatments, and really knows his stuff. He and his PA are extremely efficient, eg letters were sent to me straight after each appointment, and he has kept in close contact with me, via regular Zoom or in person appointments, during my treatment. It was easy to book an appointment and a DEXA scan, and he answered all my questions, both during the appointments and in between, extremely quickly and clearly. I feel blessed to have found out about Professor Reid and would definitely recommend him as the "go-to" person to anyone who has osteoporosis.
