Professor Watts is an exceptionally good consultant/surgeon. He is highly skilled, passionate, knowledgeable, caring and understanding. He gave me a detailed explanation of my condition, plan of treatment and expected outcomes. I had a 6 hour round trip every time to see Professor Watts which was definitely worthwhile. His Practice Manager, Jade is also a very caring, organised and competent person. An excellent team.

After nearly 40 years of strength training and one very badly damaged triceps tendon (I couldn’t even cut a piece of cheese). I had no choice but to get it repaired. I searched for a leader in their field. Prof Watts stood out. During consultations it was obvious he was the person for the job. One repaired tendon later, no complications, limited pain considering, and five months post surgery I managed a single rep with 140KG bench press, so I’m well on the road to regaining strength. To say I am pleased would be an understatement.

I have been under the care of Prof Watts for the last 8 years. His knowledge and professionalism are second to none. He has always reassured me and explained clearly what any procedure would involve and the potential outcomes. Following numerous surgeries I have been looked after by the team and have been fortunate to never having any adverse effects and recovery has always been as stated. Prof Watts is always just a phone call away. I would completely recommend him, in fact I have done on several occasions and they have also been just as pleased and impressed with Prof Watts. Thank you for always sorting out the issues I have with my hands due to an underlying medical condition and ensuring I have the best use of my hands as possible in the future.

I have over the past 5 years had several elbow and wrist surgeries under the care of Adam Watts. I would not trust anyone else with my care. Having had several inpatient stays I can truly say he is the best surgeon I have ever had , he has a wonderful bedside manner ,explains everything you need to know and is very caring and compassionate. No problem too big or small and I have always received a response from him within 24 hours via his admin assistant. Thank you Adam for getting me to where I am today 5⭐️ treatment from a 5⭐️ Consultant and his team. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

In August 2018 I had revision surgery for a ruptured distal bicep tendon with Professor Adam Watts. The previous surgery in February 2018 about 18 days after the rupture occurred with a different surgeon in the south of England where I live had failed. Worse, the surgeon initially tried to fob me off, telling me the surgery had been successful but that he couldn’t account for why the bicep had not been pulled back in to position (making it obvious the surgery had been unsuccessful). He had no constructive suggestions on how to proceed. This was through private healthcare and left me frustrated, depressed and stressed. It was therefore a huge relief to locate Adam. He pointed out the risks associated with revision surgery and the prognosis. Everything he said to me has come to pass, i.e. I should experience no pain, swelling or bruising from the surgery (unlike the first surgery) the bicep may not regain exactly the same profile but would get back to full strength. Although of mature years (65) when I had the surgery, I consider myself a sportsperson and keep fit doing a fairly serious work out in the gym as well as other physical activities. After physiotherapy and within about 6 months of the surgery I was back to full strength doing the same reps of chins and curls etc. as I had pre the rupture. Although the bicep profile as predicted is slightly different (a little shorter) to what it had been, you would have to look twice to notice and it’s really not an issue. Living in the south east of England it was a very long journey to Wilmslow (3 actually for the initial consultation, surgery and post surgery review) but totally worthwhile. From the first contact with the Practice Manager right through to the surgery and aftercare the experience was a very positive one and I would say to anyone who finds themselves with a similar injury, regardless of where you are, if you value your body and want the best recovery you can get, Professor Watts should be your first choice.
