Prof Roy listened to my concerns and patiently explained the process and risks of a bilateral breast reduction. She also put me in touch with a previous patient prior to making my decision which was very helpful, At no time did I feel I was being judged for choosing what is basically cosmetic surgery. I had 100% confidence in Prof Roy. I am delighted with the result that Prof Roy achieved and impressed and surprised by the neatness of the scars and the fact that no drain was needed. I was also very happy be told that due to waterproof dressings I could shower the day after surgery,

Professor Roy's exceptional care from consultation to post-operation for my breast reduction surgery has been of an outstanding standard. After a lot of research, I decided to go with Professor Roy and I am so grateful that I did. I was a particularly tricky patient, with a combination of autism, OCD, and anxiety, I had a LOT of questions throughout the process. Despite trying to reduce the number of emails I sent, I am sure I still sent far too many! However, Professor Roy was always extremely quick to respond, with a significant part of thanks due to her wonderful secretary Lily. As with many patients, I was very concerned about choosing the correct size. After a worried email sent by me, Professor Roy decided to actually give me a call just to calm my nerves and leave the worry up to her, which was not a necessary part of her care. Because of her wonderful pre-operative care, I left the decision up to her because of her well-documented expertise, which led to excellent results. At one point during my after care I grew concerned about a particular symptom - Professor Roy took it upon herself to call me as soon as I reported it (this was about 10.30pm! I hadn't realised the hospital would have relayed my concerns to her so quickly) and she spent thirty whole minutes checking in on me. Once again she went beyond the essential aspects of care and took time out of office hours or reasonable out-of-office hours to ensure I was okay and recommend next steps. Her kindness and care throughout the process, not to mention her incredible skill of course, has made the experience far less scary, and the results far better, than I was anticipating. She takes each concern seriously, but also knows when to calmly explain to a patient that certain symptoms are not concerning and kindly but confidently puts any worries to rest. I would turn up to consultations with a literal list of questions, and she would take time to ensure each was answered to my satisfaction. Regarding the actual procedure itself, Professor Roy's results are of the neatest quality I have seen. After spending a lot of time in breast reduction support groups and having seen many, many pictures of wonderful results, I am confident in my assertion that Professor Roy still tops them all with her skilful and tidy results. Professor Roy was also able to adapt on the table very quickly, as we decided that she would decide during the procedure whether liposuction was also necessary to balance out the reduction. This was done so well that, aside from some bruising which will happen with any liposuction, I hardly noticed I had it done at all. Due to sensitive skin, my body was taking a little longer to heal. Professor Roy helped teach me to change my bandages with some alternative non-adhesive coverings - this is a task that could have been fulfilled perfectly well by a nurse, but Professor Roy took it upon herself to help me through this process which I found nerve-wracking. Professor Roy is, without a doubt, the most compassionate practitioner I have ever had the pleasure of being with, and I cannot recommend her highly enough to any potential patient. She is not only exceptionally good at the reduction itself (an aspect I have spent little time writing about because one cannot really expand upon "the results are truly perfect") but at all the aspects that surround the procedure also. Please consider at least meeting her for a consultation, I can assure you that it only takes five minutes with Professor Roy for you to realise "Could I have been this supported and expertly advised all along?".

Prof. PG Roy was wonderful. She was kind and patient. She is a very busy doctor but made herself accessible and available. I felt I was being heard-she addressed all my concerns and answered all my questions, big and small. She took the time to talk through all the options, weigh up the pros and cons, to help me make a decision which was right for me as an individual. She is also a brilliant surgeon, my operation went off uneventfully and I am recovering well. Thank you Prof. Roy.
