I had a full right hip replacement operation, under Prof, I. Malek at Spire Yale on 16/7/22. From start to finish, all staff were superb, so to all the team at spire, anesthetist,nurses, physio, radiographer, chef, and mr malek, a big thank you. From admission at 7.30am on the 16/7/22 to discharge at 5,30pm on 17/7/22, all staff were outstanding.I have now had both hips replaced by Prof. Malek at spire, and consider myself to be very lucky to be operated on by such a skilled and outstanding surgeon. mr malek is easy to talk to and has a good sense of humour too.Again thank you for all concerned with my operation, you have given me my life back. Ive waited so long in pain for both ops to be done on the nhs, so consider it money well spent. I am now on the road to full recovery. Ron Rowe

I had my left total knee replacement performed by Mr Malek in May 2022. He was wonderfully reassuring, efficient and personable throughout. I also had my right total knee replacement done in June 2021 by Mr Malek which was also a resounding success. I cannot thank him enough for the difference these 2 procedures have made to the quality of my life.

I was very worried about having a hip replacement at 92 but Mr Malek and his team looked after me so well and now 6 weeks after the operation I am walking independently and pain free. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Malek to anyone considering this operation as he is a brilliant surgeon, and very kind and caring with a talent to put his patients at ease at a worrying time.

I required a left hip replacement and was not prepared to wait in pain for the NHS. This procedure from booking to discharge took a total of 5 months through Spire Healthcare. The service was 5 star from start to finish and Mr Maleks team were excellent throughout. This includes the nursing staff, the radiology staff, the physios, the porters, the catering staff, the anaesthetic team who were superb on surgery day, and of course Mr Malek himself. I apologise if I have missed anyone out. I honestly believe that it is the best decision I have ever made to have this operation and can now look forward to enjoying my life pain free.

I can't praise Professor Malek enough. I was terrified when I learnt I needed a hip replacement and after waiting four years plus due to the pandemic. I felt I had to do something about my hip pain that was getting worst by the day. The first time I had a consultation with Professor Malek he made me feel so relaxed with his smile and friendly attitude. He never rushed me but listened to my problems and explained everything that I understood completely. The day of my surgery he saw me before and reassured me and asked me if I had any questions. The surgery only took about one hour and he phoned my partner to say it was successful and all was well. I was walking the same day with help from the team at Spire Yale Wrexham and I was back home within two days. He is so skillful, friendly and down to earth. He has seen me for follow up appointments and showed me the X-rays of my hip before and after, explaining what he had done. I am just amazed of the whole experience and able to get my life back on track. I feel if I had a problem I would be able ring him. I would recommend Professor Malek to anyone. Thank you so much.
