I would like to say how totally great I found Dr Karat. As soon as I met her she put my mind at ease and explained everything in detail about what would happen during my lumpectomy. I had the utmost care in hospital and came home the same day Yesterday when I had my dressings removed by Dr Karat I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked. My wounds have healed amazingly and everything is so neat you can hardly tell anything was done and it was only 3 weeks ago that I had surgery. Dr Karat made sure that I was seen to quickly and efficiently and I will be eternally thankful to her and her wonderful team (my hero’s)

At the Royal College of Surgeons, I am Course Director for the Breast Surgery Skills Course, and I am e-tutor to the National MS degree in Oncoplastic Surgery.
My areas of expertise and special interests are in breast cancer, breast reconstruction, benign and congenital breast surgery, family history assessment and cosmetic surgery. I also treat patients with skin lumps and bumps, melanoma and other skin cancers.
