Over the last two and a half years I have undergone five operations for the condition, fistula-in-ano under the care of Mrs Craig. From the outset I felt I was in safe hands with Mrs Craig. Her bedside manner always led me to believe that the problem was treatable. She always talked me through the complexities of each procedure and assured me that though it was not an easy condition to treat their was light at the end of the (fistula) tunnel. After the 5th operation in February 2023 when the fistula was 'layed open' I felt that something positive was taking place. Gradually the signs of pain and discomfort slowly disappeared. I was programmed to have a review in June to assess the success or otherwise of the February operation. I was overjoyed, at the review, that Mrs Craig announced that she was happy with the progress and that she felt that my condition was now complete and I could be discharged. My sincere thanks to Mrs Craig and her support team for a successful conclusion.

Honestly, I was a little nervous about seeing Mrs Craig this afternoon for the first time because . . . well . . . bum doctor - and it’s a little embarrassing having a stranger examine your bottom. But from the moment she called my name in the waiting room, she was warm and friendly and smiling and funny and immediately put me at ease. Throughout the consultation she was down to Earth. She listened, understood, reassured and provided me with useful advice and helpful tips on treatment/ management. She happily addressed my concerns and questions without making me feel stupid. She was brilliant and it’s just a shame she can’t be my doctor for EVERYTHING - not just my bum. Thank you, Mrs Craig.

I found Christine very down to earth & knowledgeable & she eased my fears within minutes of meeting her. I can only say this is the first time I've laughed when meeting a Consultant. I would highly recommend her.

I saw Christine Craig today. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and sympathetic. I am glad I made the decision to see her as she answered all my questions in a relaxed and down-to-earth way. It was good to find someone who showed a genuine interest and someone I could trust.

From my first meeting I found Mrs Craig to be an excellent listener. She also fully understood my symptoms and how they were affecting my everyday life. She also anticipated many of my questions that made me feel she was very experienced especially with the haemorrhoid operation she would undertake for me. I had not used private medicine before. She clearly explained the fees that would be incurred and explained how to liaise with the Spire Hospital in Didsbury. She encouraged me to contact her prior to the op if I needed any further advice. The day of the operation was very relaxed. The post op advice was very thorough and acurate. Because of the detailed information regarding my recovery I felt this prepared and reassured me whilst recovering. Having a female surgeon was an added bonus to me. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mrs Craig.
